Meet the panel

Susie Jones (Cynch Security)

Susie is Director and Co-founder of Cynch Security, a cyber startup that has been live since 2018. Through her leadership as CEO, Cynch weathered the pandemic and the current recession all the white building cyber products designed to help small businesses understand and improve their cyber risks, and big companies better manage their supply chain risk. Prior to Cynch, Susie was a successful corporate executive in the insurance and risk management industry.

Anisha Fernando (UniSA)

Dr Anisha Fernando is a Lecturer in Information Systems at the University of South Australia. Her research explores technology ethics, the design of information systems and the social impact of emerging technologies. Her doctoral thesis applied value sensitive design and explored privacy expectations and data flows in the context of personalised search.

Alexandra Douvartzidis (Senior Associate, HWL Ebsworth Lawyers)

Alexandra is a Senior Associate in the Civil and Commercial Litigation team at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers in Adelaide. She specialises in civil, competition and consumer protection law, regulatory investigations, and enforcement actions. Alexandra advises clients on data, cyber, IP, technology, and privacy law. She is particularly interested in Artificial Intelligence and has presented and written on its practical and ethical issues.

Moderator: Beth Worrall (Industry Program Manager, National AI Centre, CSIRO)

Beth has over 20 years of experience in managing and leading corporate responsibility and innovation programs, working here in Australia and in the UK, with companies like Bupa, Bank of America and Santos. Most recently, Beth managed a Future Skills and Employment program for Microsoft Australia. Today, she leads Australia’s Responsible AI Network for the National AI Centre, part of DISR.
